Understanding SIRA vs SIA ACS starts with a simple question: which company will provide the service, and in which country? The two names describe different systems. They should help you check a proposal, not make it harder to understand.
Guardforce provides regulated security services in Dubai under its relevant local SIRA licensing. The separate UK company, Guardforce Security Services Limited, holds SIA Approved Contractor Scheme approval. Here is how to read those credentials when choosing a supplier.

These are not interchangeable certificates. A shared brand does not extend an approval from one legal entity or country to another.
What to check for a Dubai security assignment
Ask for the current company licence before agreeing the service. Match the legal name to the proposal and contract, then ask which licensed activity covers the work at your premises. Check validity and any conditions that affect the assignment.

What the UK ACS approval tells you
The SIA’s Approved Contractor Scheme explanation distinguishes company approval from individual SIA licensing. ACS assesses participating businesses; it is not an individual officer’s licence.
The official Guardforce UK register entry lists Guardforce Security Services Limited for Security Guarding and Key Holding, with approval expiring on 31 August 2027. We checked that entry on 7 September 2026. Always consult the live register when appointing a contractor, because status can change.
You can also match the company identity against Companies House record 02879868. Company registration identifies the legal business; it is a different check from its security approval.
The SIA entry explicitly excludes unassessed overseas suppliers from its approval. For a Dubai contract, assess the Dubai company’s own authorisation and service arrangements.
How useful is an ACS score?
An ACS score can help a buyer assess a UK approved contractor, but it needs context. The SIA’s buyer guidance recommends considering the tender response, reputation and assessment information alongside the score.
Ask which company was assessed, when the assessment took place and what the findings mean for the service you need. A total alone cannot answer whether a particular team and plan suit your property. It also cannot be used as a quality score for Guardforce’s separate Dubai operation.
A short checklist for your procurement file
- Record the full legal name of the contracting company.
- Identify the country, premises and services covered by the proposal.
- Check the relevant licence or approval against that company and activity.
- Keep the date of your check and clarify any expiry or scope questions.
- Ask who will deliver and supervise the work, including any subcontracted provision.
- Compare the written service plan with your site requirements.
For example, a buyer arranging cover for both a Dubai office and a UK office should assess each local provider separately. The two locations may share procurement standards, but their authorisation checks will differ. This is an illustrative purchasing example, not a description of a Guardforce client.

Does the UK approval cover Guardforce Dubai?
No. It belongs to the separate UK company. Our regulated security services are provided in Dubai under the relevant local licensing.
Is a trade licence the same as security approval?
No. Business registration and authorisation for regulated security activities serve different purposes. Ask for the documents relevant to the proposed assignment, rather than relying on a company name or logo alone.
What if a proposal does not make the company or scope clear?
Ask the supplier to identify the contracting entity and explain the applicable licence before you agree the service. Keep its answer with the proposal so your procurement team has a clear record.
